Wow! This was a great wedding over at the Hotel Valley Ho. I had the privledge of Photographing J’me Williams which is a Makeup Artist and teacher. She has the opportunity to travel to so many great locations teaching others how to use Make up For ever. She is a very highly skilled makeup artist and has alot of images on Model Mayhem as well. She was so fun to photograph. I just love her. She is truly a gifted person with such a great heart and full of positive energy! Thank you J’me for allowing me to share your special day!

Megan and Daniel’s Wedding Day!

March 24th, 2008 . by Michell Jonas

Ahhhhh…. Little teaser of Megan and Daniel’s Beautiful Wedding day! This was a beautiful one over at The Castle at Ashley Manor. Wow! What a great turn out with lots of friends and family. And to top it off they are a great looking couple! One really great and unique thing that they did was, they used “sparklers” as they exited for the night to the Grande Limo. I put the image in the collage, but not sure if you can see it so well. But if anyone is looking to do something alittle different with there grand exit, this was a fantastic idea!

Hope you enjoy them!

Wedding

November 20th, 2007 . by Michell Jonas

Christine and Scotts Wedding

I put together a collage layout in Adobe Photoshop CS2 and used the fairly new program Lightroom. I also used one of Gary Fongs actions for the wedding collage layout. I had so many images that I wanted to share, that putting them on all at one time would take alot of my time and yours! So hopefully you can see them for the most part. We shot this wedding with my Canon MarkII 1D, and Canon 20D. Which I sent out this last week to exchange for a Canon 5D! But the wedding took place over at Tempe Newman Center. And then headed off to Villa Siena for a beautiful Tuscan/Italian Wedding ceremony. Christines side of the family is Italian. What a beautiful wedding! They have so many friends and family! My favorite Vendors were there as well. Heidis Catering, and my old time favorite BJ the DJ. It seems we have been running into each other at the last 4 weddings or so! Christine is a cheerleader and has worked with BJ the DJ, which works for the Phoenix Suns! So, photographing Christine was easy and fun! And her new husband, Scott, was very photogenic himself! Hope you enjoy!!! Love, Love Love

Wedding Traditions of Different Cultures, Part 2

April 13th, 2007 . by Michell Jonas

This is part two in a series about different wedding traditions in various countries.

For good luck the Irish believe in the sun shining on the bride, to hear the cuckoo on the wedding morning, to see three magpies, and after the wedding ceremony it is important that a man, and not a woman, be the first to wish joy to the new bride. Some Irish people will wear a claddagh ring for a wedding ring. This ring was created by a master goldsmith. It symbolizes love, loyalty and friendship. When worn on the right hand, with the heart facing inward, means the wearers heart is unoccupied.. When the heart is facing outward, it means love is being considered. When worn on the left hand facing outward, it means the wearer is seriously committed to marry. At some Irish weddings, the groom is lifted in a chair (jaunting chair), to celebrate that he is a married man. For good luck, the newlyweds are given a horseshoe to display in their home, in the upward position. Read the rest of this entry »

Want to Know What the Average Engagement Ring and Wedding Costs?

January 13th, 2007 . by Michell Jonas

The average engagement ring costs about $3,000-$4,000. The equals roughly 2-3 months salary for the regular Joe who is going to spend that much. Better start putting those pennies in your piggy bank.   Joel spent a little bit more than this on my ring. Read the rest of this entry »

Life as a Wedding Disk Jockey

September 20th, 2006 . by Michell Jonas

It must be great. You work on Saturday night for 5 hours and make $1,000 or more. What a life. It has been equated to selling drugs - the lucrative wedding disc jockey business is not what it’s cracked up to be.
